Mission: Decrypt! A Hands-On Math Adventure

Objectives
 
  • Demonstrate the practical applications of mathematics in communication and digital security.
  • Introduce the principles of encryption through interactive, hands-on activities.
  • Develop foundational reasoning and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Inspire curiosity and further exploration in STEM, particularly mathematics.
Learning Outcomes
 
  • Describe the core principles of classical and modern cryptographic systems, including Morse Code, the Caesar Cipher, hash functions, and public-key cryptography.
  • Apply the Caesar Cipher using modular arithmetic to encrypt and decrypt simple messages.
  • Compare the security paradigms and applications of classical ciphers versus modern encryption systems.
