Unveiling the Wonders in Mathermatics and Learning Computation with your Calculators

Objectives
 

This programme provides students with a foundational understanding of quantitative reasoning as it relates to a real-world phenomena, including the calculation of areas of various shapes and the exploration of intriguing probability paradoxes.  Students will develop essential problem-solving methodologies and gain practical skills through hands-on activities, utilizing scientific calculators and Excel.  By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the analytical tools necessary to effectively address complex problems and apply their knowledge in diverse contexts.

Learning Outcomes
 
  • Gain an understanding of the foundamental approaches used to solve related problems.
  • Acquire the skills to apply these methodologies to tackle similar challenges encountered in reality.
  • Understand some basic numerical computation concepts.
  • Apply techniques of using scientific calculators to solve mathematical problems.
